Our interview was scheduled by the NVC on february 5th.We left sialkot at 1 am on 5th of february and reaached islamabad(faizabad) at 5.30am.We hired a taxi and headed towards convention centre.eversince this stupid war on terror, the beautiful city of islamabad has been changed to bunker island.a lot hurldes and blocekd roads.so,i suggest people going to the embassy to leave early.
Then we reached diplomatic shuttle service center.
Note:You cant go to the embassy all by yourself wether youare on a taxi or you have your own car.You have to go to convention center and then to the diplomatic shuttle service to go to the embassy.
Their we handed our bags and cell phones at the counters reserved for the purpose.cell phones are not allowed.
then we waited there and after getting the tickets we boarded a shuttle but we had to go througha thorough security check.
In half an hour we were at the american embassy.
Again we had to go through a security check.
then again just before entering the embassy we were stopped and again another security check.
we waited outside the consulate section.
after about 20 minutes we were called for finger prints(biometrics) a guy helped us who was there to help people with that.
then we were allowed to enter the consulate section.
aftr an hour my mom was called and she submitted the passports.
after another 20 minutes we were called and we submitted our medical papers, birth certificates my moms and a guy asked i we had a connection with any terrorist organization.the answer was obviously,NO.this question was asked to all of the people.
then after anoher 20 minuteswe were called for interview.
the lady who was white american was very pleasant and asked which language would u like to b interviewed.my mom said urdu.
then she said in urdu,"i know a little bit of urdu".
she stood up and called another lady who was the interpreter.
the lady kep asking questions for about 5 minutes.
she was very friendly and asked some of the questions in urdu.
she asked the following questions
1.who is calling you to america?
2.how long has your sister(my moms sister who was also the petitioner) been living in the US?
3.how did she moved to the US?
4.how come she was married to an american(my moms sister was married to a US citizen who moved a pakistani by birth and moved to america)?
5.was that an arranged marriage?
6.how many kidsdoes she have?
7.tell me the names of the kids?
8.are they the same age as your kids?
9.the only question she asked to us(me and my brother) was that when were they here last time?
10.then she asked for original birth certificate and marriage certificate of my aunt which my mom didnt have.although we had notarized copies they refused them saying we need to see original.
11.she said affidavit od support doesnt meet the required income neccessary to support you peope and u need a co-sponsor.
during the interview she noted i could understand english and she pointed her finger towards me and said in urdu ,"u can speak english".lol
my mom said we ourself are wealthy enough to support ourselves their and offered them to show our bank statements she refused to see saying we dont see them we see those sent by the petitioner and co-sponsors.
then she asked where we live in pakistan and gaveusa purple slip and giving us the address of the courier service in sialkot to sned them the documents listed on the slip.
she said all of you will be given visas as soon as you send the documents requested.
she put stikcers on the passports and gave us the other parts of the stickers and said ucan recieve ur passports once u recieve ur passports.
my mom asked how much time its gonna take untill we are issued visas.she said it depends on how early you send those documents.
then i asked my mom to ask her if i m stilleligible to to immigrate(because i turned 21 on jan24,2009 ndthe interview was on feb5,2009).she said,"your child has been protectedjavascript:emoticon('') and because the petition was filled a long time ago when i was not 21.so,i can go with my parents".
so,people CSPA(child status protection act) works.
although i had all the papers to show that i was stilleligible i didnt have to show them.
she herself taked to me and said u are ok dont worry.
in short the interview was pleasant and the officer was really nice.
Note:This case was F4(sisters and brothers of US citizens).
and i and my brother and my father were derivative beneficiaries.
me and my brother were asked only one question.my father wasnt asked a singl question.
