The process at the consulate was extremely easy and painless! If you read other's reviews like I did prior to your interview, you will prepare yourself for the big day.

This is how the morning went:

1. Wife and I woke up at 5:45, got changed, and went downstairs for the complementary breakfast in our hotel the Embassy Suites.
2. 6:55 - Walked from the hotel to the consulate. 10 minute walk. (Extremely cold -18C)
3. First to the door, at 7:10.
4. A few others started to show up around 7:20.
5. Security guard opened the main doors at 7:30.
6. We were the first to enter, we proceeded through security, and left my remote entry for my car behind. They gave me a ticket to retrieve it on my way out. I was handed a packet, and on the top was a plastic letter "A". We then proceeded down the stairs and sat in the chairs in front of the elevator.
7. The security guard came down at 7:45, and called letters A-E. As we were A, we entered the elevator and went upstairs to the 19th floor.
8. We sat down until 8:00, as I was called to window #11. The lady made sure all my documents were in order, and asked a few questions. When did you get married? Where did you meet? Have I always lived in Canada? Has my wife always lived in the USA? Basic stuff...We then were asked to sit back down, and she would call me back in a few minutes for finger printing on the digital machine.
9. 8:15 - I was then called back to window #11, and she did my finger prints. That was done in 2 minutes.
10. 8:30 sharp. I was called in to booth #8. The most exciting part of the day, thus far.
11. The guy in the booth was very happy to see us, he was a very kind man. He started off by cracking a few jokes, and then asked us to raise our right hand. He first said, "The paperwork you guys have submitted is excellent!" I quickly took the credit for it, however, thanks to visajourney.com. He knew our case very well it seemed, he asked us questions which he knew the answer too already. Where did you meet? When did you meet? When did you get married? He indicated that we were in good in the financial area. He asked if I had already been inquiring for jobs, which I have been. That was basically it. He then approved us. I then asked to pick up the visa, instead of mailing it. He agreed, and gave me a yellow card to enter the building at 2:45, to pick it up at 3pm tomorrow.

That was it! Very easy thanks to VJ.com

Thanks everyone!
