| Frankfurt, Germany | Review on March 12, 2026: | Jiggly

Rating: | Review Topic: K1 Visa
I am 34, female, and I live in the Netherlands. My fiance lives in Pennsylvania.
I had my medical exam in Amsterdam on 19 February. On the website it says the results get send to Frankfurt in 5 office days, but at the medical exam itself they said it was between 5 and 10 office days.
They only sent my results the day before around 16:30 so I had been super stressed out they wouldn't send it in time. I would definitely have scheduled the medical exam earlier had I known.
My interview was scheduled at Thursday 5 March at 8:00.
Because I read several reviews here saying there were long lines, I thought it would be best to be there early.
I stayed in a hotel nearby, so I left my bag at the Imbiss kiosk next to the tram station on the same street.
I arrived at the consulate at 7:05. A man was there to greet everyone and tell them which line to wait in. There were five people waiting before me. It was a little cold but there was a tent and heaters, so that was fine.
Security took my phone and gave me a number so I could pick it up later. I was allowed to bring a bottle of water inside. They had me take a sip of water in front of them.
Once inside I saw there were no windows open yet, and there was only one other person there. He was also Dutch so we just talked about our experiences so far while waiting.
Around 7:30, maybe a little later, I was the first one called to a window.
They checked my papers, I only brought original documents (oops?) so they made some copies.
The lady said my fiance didn't sign the form I-134 (another oops).
I had to scan my finger prints. I was a little surprised how much force you had to use.
After that she told me I could go back and wait to be called for the interview.
Around 8 another window opened. I joked with the other Dutch person that she looked a little cranky, and I hoped she wasn't the one doing the interviews.
She was, of course. And I assume the reason she looked a little cranky was because she was very pregnant and I think she was training her replacement.
She was however very professional and I got these questions:
How did you meet?
Have you met in real life?
How many times have you met?
When do you plan on getting married?
Do either of you have children?
Has either of you been married before?
What are your plans for the wedding?
After the interview she said everything seemed good, but she still had to review the medical exam.
I was done and outside at 8:30.
On Monday I received a mail that they were going to send me my passport, and on Tuesday I received it, with the approved visa inside.
