My appointment was at 7:30 am, but they let me in around 7 am in the US Embassy. I was able to finish everything by 8:30 am. Overall, everything went pretty smoothly. You don't need to bring a mask or a pen. I also used the services of Baggage Keepers nearby the US Embassy where you can store your stuff, like phone and keys. Given that it is not allowed to bring inside the Embassy, they're also very well aware of this and have a signage of what items are prohibited inside the Embassy so you can decide which items to keep inside the lockers. It's also only PHP 150.00 for small ones, very handy.
The consulate on window 53 was a very nice person. He didn't give me a hard time, and only a few questions. Some of these questions were:
1. How did you and your wife meet?
2. Did you travel to US? What Visa did you use to travel? What was the longest stay you did in US?
3. Did you work in any other country before?
4. Were you convicted of any crimes?
5. How many times has your wife visited the Philippines?
6. Where is your wife's address?
Once you've finished, there's another window you approach if you need to ask questions relating to your visa. Otherwise, you're free to leave. Overall, great experience!
