First appointment date is for delivering documents and proof of relationship, the next day is the interview. The wait is long, but I believe it's part of the process. For the first day, the person attending helped me out with the criminal record, I didn't bring it so she printed it out. She asked me for a missing stamp in my birth certificate and told me to either bring it tomorrow or bring it later, but I was lucky to get it for the second day.
Interview was very short, the questions asked felt conversational rather than interrogative. Interviewer asked who was making the petition, how did we meet, how long have we been dating, and how often she travels here and how long she stays. I had a previous tourism visa denied so she asked about it and I answered sincerely. Since I've been dating my fiancée for a while and we don't meet often, she asked how do we communicate and then what were our plans for our wedding. She was very expressive, showed true sympathy when I told her about our relationship and it made me feel okay despite the nerves I felt.
After the questions stopped, interviewer asked me to be patient since these things can take a few minutes to get done. And after a short bit she congratulated me and gave me the pamphlet of approval.
Really good experience, made me wonder why I was so nervous about it afterwards.
