Arrived half an hour early, and spent 20 minutes in queue for my 0800 appointment. Security went quick enough as I'd made sure to leave everything I wouldn't need in my hotel room. Took about an hour for me to be called to the check-in window where I handed over my birth certificate (both the original copy in Dutch, as well as the international version), my police report (VOG), and my marriage certificate (Minnesota certificate, with Minnesota Department of State apostille as I'd previously used it to register my marriage in the Netherlands).
At check-in I also gave my fingerprints, and was asked when I'd intend to travel. As my intended travel date is after my 2-year anniversary the lady suggested I let them keep my passport and they would put the visa in it after my anniversary so it would be less of a hassle at the border and it'd be the IR-1 straightaway. Was then sent back to the waiting area.
At about 0940 I was called up for the interview. After being sworn in, I was asked the usual questions. We had a quick chat, was told again that they'd keep my passport until my anniversary, and then was told I was approved.
Overall not a bad experience. Friendly staff for sure even when I didn't hear them a couple of times. The only real downside is that the electronic screens saying "now serving" weren't in use, and the people calling the numbers weren't always easy to hear.
