My wife had her interview at 8:30. She arrived about 5 mins before and entered right away, and the whole process took two hours until she left the embassy.

First thing when you arrive, it is just a smallish door on the street, where you ring a doorbell and a guard will come out and you will pass them a copy of the appointment letter. They go back in, verify you have an appointment, and then let you in. You have to leave your cell phone in their lockers, and can leave small bags as well. You cannot bring in or leave laptops -- so do not bring them! Once through security you go through the courtyard to the main building where all interviews are conducted.

First she presented the essential documents (DS-260 confirmation, I864, tax documents, marriage license, etc.) to an embassy worker (often Chilean) to make sure you have everything necessary for the interview. Then she waited for a while, and eventually her name was called for the interview. The interviewer asked about the following:

- My (the US citizen) current work and living situation. We had all been living in Chile for the past 5 years, so I had to reestablish domicile in the US back in August. So most of the questions were verifying my work, income, and our future living situation
- How long we were married, kids, etc.
- Previous Green Card (my wife previously had a green card)
- Her overstay in the US of a couple weeks back when she was a teenager, it was an accident, they always ask about it, but it is almost never an issue
- Very little questions about validity of our marriage, didn't even ask to see any pictures. I think being married 7 years helps on that front.

And then he said she was approved, we would get an email soon, and the passport would be ready in 4 weeks.

Overall a good experience and not very stressful in the end.
