The day before the interview, we left home at midnight, got to the Consulate at 6:00 a.m!
Too early, so we left for coffee then came back for the appointment. Waited outside for about 15 minutes, then went it. They call for "united states citizens first please!" So we were the 2nd couple in.
We sat down, then got called up about 5 minutes later to the first Consulate worker. She was very nice, and gave us a sheet as to how to put the paperwork in order, and told us to buy stamps and then pay for the processing. (The exchange rate is crap at the Consulate; we actually paid $432 instead of $400 because of this, and I wish I had known this beforehand.)

After this, we sat down again for a while, and then got called up to go to the 2nd window. This man was also nice and friendly. He went through our paperwork, checked things off, and then said we were all set with that. Then he told us to sit down again and wait for the last process, the actual "Interview." So this time we waited about 1/2 hour, and then got called up. This was the shortest period of time of all. We didn't get asked ANY questions at all. Jens got his fingerprints done, then the Officer said "Ok, we have everything we need; you should get your visa in the mail within two weeks. He was very nice and straight to the point! We left, and were so relieved afterwards...it's a nerve wracking process. Thank GOD it's over! We received the VISA and paperwork in the mail today, on Tuesday July 22. That has GOT to be a record! 2 business days! Amazing!
Thank you all for your support, I will write more later concerning the POE etc..Take care, and many blessings,
Marsha & Jens
