Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

In the beginning, there was a bit of a wait, but the staff was very friendly and set our expectations. One gentleman (Steve) even threw a bit of humor in from time to time - he definitely had some good energy and a positive attitude!

We came well prepared with a stack of well-organized paperwork (tax returns, W-2, Marriage Certificate, a few photos, and everything else on the checklist) and our 5-week old baby in tow. The officer was very nice and pleasant to talk to, but also very thorough. He mentioned that we had one of the most well-organized sets of paperwork he had seen (I even put on a cover sheet with a table of contents!) and was appreciative. He asked a lot of questions (some repetitive, but I know that's to make sure we didn't change our answers) that were mostly conversational. At the end he said that our baby was the strongest piece of evidence of our genuine relationship, and he didn't have much doubt that we would be approved when we walked in with her. Overall, a very pleasant experience!
