(Medical Exam in KL, Malaysia)
As it’s the only panel clinic in Malaysia and CMCO period, it’s difficult to get through to make an appointment. My best advice is to call them between 8am - 9am. I’d suggest you to get your embassy interview date first and the clinic will do their best to squeeze you in. This is also beneficial for you because the medical report is valid 6 months from the date of your check up (NOT when you receive the results/NOT when your Visa is approved).

Before you go, do prepare:
- Copy of the US Embassy Interview Confirmation
- 4 2x2 photos (US Visa sized photos)
- Passport
- Copy of your vaccination record (if you have)
- Have your US address and Malaysia address ready (to fill up form later)
- RM 900 (CASH ONLY)

My appointment was at 8am 4 November 2020. I arrived 30 minutes earlier and was lucky to get a parking spot outside the building. I was their first patient and they were quick in getting everything in order for me.

1. Handed over my passport, the photos, copy of my vaccination record and US Embassy Interview Confirmation for registration.
2. Nurse gave a few forms to acknowledge, complete and sign. Took less than 5 minutes to complete all of them.
3. Urine test completed, and was escorted to a small room to check your height, weight and eyesight.
4. Waited less than 10 minutes and was called into the doctor’s room. Was immediately greeted by Dr. Zurina. She was super friendly and made me feel comfortable. She went through to explain the validity of the medical exam report, what to expect after arriving in the US, what to do when I file for AOS and the vaccinations.
5. We went through a questionnaire which I had completed earlier about my health and past medical history.
6. Took a blood test.
7. She reviewed my vaccination card and told me the vaccinations I would need. I’ve planned to get all my shots/boosters updated before leaving to the US (It’s way cheaper to do it here, and I wouldn’t have to worry about it when I file for a Green Card).
8. Physical examination time. She checked my abdomen, my lungs (front and back), spine and reflex test on my joints.
9. Given 2 shots - DTAP and Flu Shot. I’ve opted to get a HEP B booster and MMR shot for my next visit.
10. Total amount paid RM 826. I was given a payment receipt, a letter to the embassy stating my results are pending, and a report to do the x-ray. Left at 9.35am.

Made a short drive to Daya X-Ray Centre (less than 10 minutes). This clinic is right beside DBKL, and there is an open-air parking space right beside the building so it was very convenient. If I remember correctly - RM 5 per hour, accepts Touch’n’Go or Visa Wave only.

1, Walked over to the clinic, registered with my passport and presented them the report/letter for X-Ray.
2. NO PAYMENT NEEDED as it is already included in the initial RM 826.
3. Called in, confirmed details (name & DOB) and led to the X-Ray room to change (just top half).
4. Done and left the clinic at 10.50am.

(12 November 2020 - Collection of Medical Report, More Vaccinations and Submission of Medical Documents)

Doctor went through the medical results with me. Explained the submission process and how to prepare my documents at the US immigration when I arrive. After that, I took my MMR shot and HEP B booster. I left with a SEALED envelope containing the original medical report and X-Ray, and a copy of the medical report to keep. It was a quick session and I paid additional RM 127 for both the vaccination shots.

Drove straight to Aramex PJ to drop off my passports (new and old one has B2 Visa), a copy of the document delivery confirmation page and the sealed envelope. Left there with an air waybill receipt.

(Malaysia K1 Visa Interview Experience)
My interview was on 9 November 2020 (Monday, 8am) during the CMCO period. Decided to leave early as it was the start of the week and I was afraid of any hold ups from roadblocks (None encountered from my end, do check with PDRM or call up your nearest police station to confirm if you need a travel letter). I arrived at the Embassy entrance at 7.40am and only saw 1 family waiting ahead of me.

We were called in to register at 8.05am. Handed over my IC for them to keep and a tag to wear. Went through security and surrendered my phone and was given a little token (to collect my phone after). Walked into the office and was greeted by a staff member. She gave me a checklist to prepare my documents accordingly (removed them out of my folder) and waited.

I was called to a booth and the officer checked through my arranged documents and did fingerprint scanning. She collected them and placed them inside a pink file.

At about 8.45am, I was called to a different booth. Here are the questions I was asked (not in order and as much as I can remember):

How did you and your fiancée meet?
What was your relationship like in between since you both first met? (we met online in 2008 and only got together in 2016)
When did you both first meet in person?
Has your fiancée been to Malaysia?
How many times have you both get together in person?
What do you and your fiancée usually do when she visits you in Malaysia?
Have you lived in any other countries for more than 6 months?
Where are your fiancée's parents from and where do they live now?
Where is your fiancée and what’s her living situation now?
How many times have you been to the US?
I see you brought some pictures. May I see them?
When do you plan to go to the US to get married?
Plans for the wedding?
What does your fiancee do and describe the company she works in?
Have you or your fiancée been married before?

The interview was pretty conversational. After that, he told me everything was good and in order, however he couldn’t issue me a Visa yet as I was still waiting for my medical results. He assured me that once they've receive my medical report and if everything is in place, they will process it and deliver my passport with the visa back to me.

Left the embassy at 9am. Overall pleasant experience. Everyone there was really friendly and efficient.
