Our interview was conducted during the COVID pandemic, so it may be different from the usual.
The interview was scheduled at 10:30AM. If you arrive slightly earlier at the consulate, they will turn you away and tell you to come back at your exact appointment time. Don’t bring a bag because they won’t let you in with one. Only bring your documents in a folder or some sort of paper holder.
First was the security check where you go through inspection similar to airport security. After that they tell you to go upstairs where everyone waits for their appointment. You go to the officer’s window to give all the documents they need, including your passport. They’ll hold onto those until they call you up a second time to conduct your interview.
For us, the interview was very brief. How did you meet, what’s your job, are your addresses still up to date, very basic questions like that. Then they tell you you’ve been approved and next steps.
