My husband's appointment was 6:30am.
Coming from Pangasinan he arrived at Manila at 4am and headed to the Manila USEM at 5:30am. People started to come as well.

Showed the interview letter, DS 260, Passport.

Pre-screening: Ds260,birth certificate, marriage certificate, Cenomar/advisory on Marriages (both His and mine),NBI clearance,he said they didn't even asked for his 2x2 pictures, the lady at the window started to ask questions too on how we both met etc..[I may have forgotten some other documents that they asked for, this is just how my husband told his story from what happened.]
They also even took my 2019 tax transcript.[I dont know if this is at the prescreening stage or consul stage]

Next biometrics: fingerprints [according to my husband the Filipina ladies are so strict and serious. But the guys like the consuls are so understanding and nice.

Next waiting name to be called by the consul, they only had 4 windows open at a time thats why it took a while..

When it was my husband's turn, he greeted the consul.
Consul asked: Who is your petitioner? Whats her name.
The consul even asked my husband if he wanted an interpreter. [My husband understands english and knows how to speak but at that time, he was so tired, sleepy and hungry from the long trip, i guessed the consul noticed from his face, hehe so yeah my husband said yes! So there was a filipina translator with the consul].. take note: do what makes it easier for you..
Other questions asked:
Where does your wife work?
What does she do?
How do you meet?
When did you asked her to get married?
How many times has she visited you?
How long did she stay?
[These are some of the questions asked]

Next was the long part according to him:
They asked why his name on his birth certificate different from what he uses now..
He explained that he was first using his father's last name when he was born and when his parents separated, his mom wanted him to carry the mothers last name so thats why there are REMARKS on his birth certificate.
Consul looked for his NBI clearance and mostly focused everything from there.. the rest of our documents like proof of relationship, AOS etc they didnt even asked for..
Consul was amazed how quick and straightforward my husbands answers were and really convinced that our relationship is true.
It was just his name that was a problem.
Consul gave him pamphlets on domestic violence etc.
Also gave him a letter from the embassy that he needs to submit an police clearance and NBI clearance with an A.K.A [also known as] [his name on his birthcertificate]. Via 2Go with his passport and the letter given to him.

Over all, everything is approved, but his visa is just on hold until we submit the documents needed and upload it too on the CEAC portal.
