Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We arrived at USCIS San Francisco Office on 630 Sansome Street at about 7am. There were 2 people going in for US Citizenship in front of us outside. A security gaurd checked our appt letter let us in. After we passed thru security, we headed for the 2nd floor and went to the AOS reception desk. A lady there took our appt letter ,then told us to wait at area B. At about 805am, over the intercom, a female voice called out my wife\'s name to come to door B.

There at the door, we were met by the USCIS Adjudicator, Ms Peterson. She was straight business like, with minimal chit-chat. We were sworn in then were seated. She asked for Pocky\'s passport and removed the I-94 card. She only asked to see my CA DL and then proceeded with verifying some information on the I-485 application (Name, DOB, SS #, home address and home phone number) . She asked my wife several questions: how many times she was married, what date WE were married, did she have any children and 2 of those questions from the I-485 one w/terrorist & the other w/fraudulent activities). Ms Peterson asked me a couple of questions: how many times I have been married, do I have any children, have I met Pocky\'s parents, what are their names. She only asked for my employer\'s letter and proof of relationship, of which I provided bank checking acct & credit card statements with our names, dental & medical benefits with her name on it and I was prepared to give her some photos but she said that was enough. ( I did bring MOST of what was listed on the I-485 appointment letter)

She then proceeded to explain about the I-751 form in 2 years ( 90 days before the 2 yr anniversary) while at the same time stamping Pocky\'s passport with the RED INK w I-551, employment authorized, etc statement. She also mentioned after 3 years from today, Pocky can apply to get naturalized!!And that was it!! Ms Petersen then turned over to her PC to click on something then said \"OK, congratulations & have a nice day!!\" We returned her well wishes and walked out the door.
