The interview went rather well. I was able to answer all questions and provide the requested information.
However, i did had not realized that my birth certificate needed to be backed up by a supplementary document (a birth attestation issued by the National population commission) for the interview (it had not been flagged at any step of the process and i had not come across the information anywhere before the date of the interview).
The interviewer told me there was no problem. He gave me the alien registration form (in his words, so it would be quicker for me to pay the immigration fee when they issue my visa) and the info sheet for persons at risk for abuse. He also gave me a document request form to be submitted along with my passport and the birth attestation.
He told me that i would need my birth attestation document and where to get it. that i was to submit it with my passport (he emphasized this part as he returned my passport to me) and that my visa would be issued within two weeks of receiving the document.
I followed hi directions and was able to obtain the document 48hrs later.
Unfortunately, when an attempt was made to submit the document and my passport, as directed, i was told, at the drop-off point, that the interviewer had not ticked "passport" on the document request form, so they could not accept my passport.
When i got home and logged on to ceac, i discovered i had been placed in administrative processing.
It has now been three months.
