Mumbai, India | Review on December 28, 2019: | CMM

Rating: | Review Topic: K1 Visa
After several MONTHS of constant anxiety and worrying, I cant believe how easily the interview went.
My interview was on the 20th of December at 7.15 at the Mumbai Consulate.
TIP: Get there are as early as you can as your place in the queue determines your wait time.
Around 7 ish, the security guard made an announcement in Hindi, I suppose he said all immigrant visas should form a queue. I just heard immigrant and I rushed to stand in line. I was fourth in line. We went in around 715 ish and we were led to a hall, with enough seating and around 10 counters and made to stand in line for our tokens. Other languages were asked to stand in different lines, I chose English as my interview language and i was second in that line.. An Indian representative helped me arrange my paperwork accordingly. Birth certificate, PCC, Medical and Passport size photo.
Once you're given the token, your number will flash on the screen displaying which counter you need to go to at first. An Indian representative at that counter asked for my BC and copy, PCC, Medical envelope which is sealed and i129f and tax forms. He asked me a couple of questions like if I had been to the US before (yes) and on what visa. The then asked me to sit down and wait for my token number to be displayed on screen.
After around 15 minutes, my number was displayed on screen and I went to the respective counter. My VO was a brown haired, middle aged white guy, with glasses. He seemed fairly cheerful enough. He asked me the following questions:
Who's calling you to the US?
How did you meet your fiance?
What does he do?
What are his hobbies?
What do his parents do?
Have you met his parents?
What do my parents think of our relationship and future marriage plans?
That's it. He didn't ask anything about why we wanted to have the wedding in the US or when we plan to have it. He didnt ask to see photos either.
He did however notice my engagement ring, I saw him look at it, but he didnt ask anything about that either..
Straightforward questions. Honestly, I didnt realize I would be called that soon to the counter, and I had no time to be anxious 🤣
The officer was friendly, occasionally typed something on his computer. And after he thought he has enough information, he said that my visa was approved and congratulated me with a smile..
The interview lasted no more than 5 minutes. My fiance and I have no prior marriages and have lived together as well.
My advice to those panicking and getting anxious, it's not worth it. Just try your best to have a level head, smile and be confident when you answer, you'll be fine.
