Immigrant Interview on December 9 (IR1 and IR2)
US Embassy Philippines

4:30 AM — Arrived outside US Embassy

6:00AM — The guard called the 6:00AM and 6:35AM immigrant appointment schedule

(Very unorganised. They even let the 7:00AM applicants in than the time ahead of them)

8:00AM — Handed the DS260 confirmation Page, pasted the barcode with alphabetical sign. (outside US Embassy)

(First door) Got inside the first entrance of the building. Placed bags on a tray. Scanned items. Proceeded to the next door.

8:10AM — We were asked to take a seat according to our assigned letter B (still outside but within the vicinity)

8:15AM — Called in to get inside the main building (inside US Embassy)

Submitted bags for inspection. Walked through metal detector for final checkup.

9:00AM — Called to Window 42 for prescreening. Submitted DS260 Confirmation Page. Filipino consul then asked for beneficiary’s original documents altogether (PSA BC, PSA MC, PSA CENOMAR and NBI, followed by petitioner’s: Updated I-864, 2018 Federal Income Tax Return, W2)

Questions:

What’s your name?
When’s your date of birth?
When and where did you get married?
What’s the petitioner’s name?
When’s the petitioner’s date of birth?
What’s the petitioner’s US address? (Submitted an updated I-864)
What’s the petitioner’s current job? Which state? (Submitted an updated I-864)
How many kids do you have?
Who’s the Joint Sponsor?
Where does the JS live?

Note: I presented my updated I-864 (not uploaded) due to the petitioner’s information has been changed such as his US address, Employer and contact number. The Filipino Consul returned his old I-864 (uploaded).

The filipino also asked questions related to the names on my BC to that of my cenomar. (My parents names on my BC does not match to the rest of my documents)

The language used in the prescreening was all in Filipino.

9:30AM — Went to window 51 for finger scanning.

Step 2: American consul asked for my name and date of birth. IR2 need not finger scanning due that he is still young according to the consul (8 years old). Proceed to final interview. The staff in blue shirt will guide you in every step.

10:00AM — We waited around 30 minutes before out turn. Went to window 44. We were assigned to a female American consul.

Immediately handed the DS260 with barcode. American consul distributed two pamphlets and instructed me to call 911 for any emergency. She then got our folders (documents from the prescreening) while looking at the computer (documents uploaded to CEAC).

Questions the American consul asked my IR2:
What’s your name?
When’s your birthday?
How old are you?
Which grade are you in?
Do you like the petitioner?
Do you like to go to America?
When was the last time you saw him?

Questions the American consul asked me:
What’s your name?
When’s your birthday?
What’s the petitioner’s name?
When’s his birthday?
Who lives with him?
What does he do?: employer and job description
When and where did we get married?
Why did you choose to get married there?
How many times has he visited you?
How many kids do you have?
How many persons does your husband sponsoring?
Why is your mother’s name on your birth certificate different from your cenomar?
Have you been married before?
Has your husband been married before?

Consul: You put AKA on your NBI but you did not put AKA on your cenomar.

The rest of the documents are great but I just need this one document before I could recommend you for a visa approval.

I need you to request a cenomar with AKA using your name on your birth certificate (before the annotation), scan and upload it to CEAC. Submit it to the US EMBASSY via 2GO courier together with you and your son’s passport.

I would also have to put your son on administrative processing until you can send the document needed. Please wait within 2-4 weeks for your passport with visa. Thank you.
