Two points of Embassy staff not following procedure:
RETURN OF ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS:
Embassy practice does not conform with Department of State guidelines.
The Department of State website for processing in Abu Dhabi the following:
The applicant will receive the applicant’s original documents back at the time of the visa interview. These instructions are located on the following URL:

Consulate Officer put original documents in yellow envelope to be given to Customs Border Patrol at the Port of Entry. This envelope does not get returned to the applicant.
Joint Sponsorship - Affidavit of Support
Sponsors can use Social Security retirement benefits as income on their affidavit of support. Social Security retirement is NOT A MEANS TESTED BENEFIT. MEANS TESTED benefits are disability and welfare.
Consulate Officer contested this fact and stated SS income is not allowed to be considered income.
