Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

As soon as I got my visa appointment letter from NVC, I jumped right into my medical exam at SLEC and completed all my requirements for the interview over a month before the NVC appointed interview. A good soul here in Visa Journey messaged me and suggested that I reschedule my appointment to an earlier date since I am done with all the requirements and so I gave it a shot and called USEM appointment services. First, the agent explained to me that I cannot reschedule to an earlier date because my physical case from NVC might not be with the USEM yet plus the fact that it's their protocol but prior to rescheduling, I already cheked with NVC and they said my case is already in Manila. I insisted and the agent finally gave in. He rescheduled my interview from October 21 to October 8.

Fast forward to October 8 at 6:45am, I went to the USEM for my interview just 15 minutes before my schedule. I got out before 9am with my visa approved! The whole process was smooth. All the USEM staff were pleasant and helpful. The only documents that I showed were the original copies of the exact documents that I uploaded in our CEAC account: PSA birth certificate, PSA marriage certificate, NBI clearance, SLEC brown envelope medical exam results, my expired US visa from my old passport, CENOMAR (advisory on marriages) and a photocopy of my husband's I-864 and tax return transcript form the previous year. I had so many other files with me including photos and all but the consul didn't ask for anything else. My interview lasted for literally 5 minutes. The questions I was asked were:
-My full name and date of birth
-husband's full name and date of birth
-where did we meet
-date and place of our wedding
-what does he do for a living
-what do I do for a living
-which city and state does he live in
-when did he immigrate to the US
-Other countries I've traveled to

Just stay as calm as you can. Always go straight to the point and never beat around the bush, less talk, less mistakes is very much applicable to the interview but answer all questions completely and honestly.

Believe in the power of PRAYER. God will put you through this!

God bless everyone in this journey!
