Review Topic: K1 Visa

My K1 Visa appointment was on August 29 at 6:45AM. I highly recommend getting this time because 1) Not crowded, less hassle 2) To get it over with already first thing in the morning HAHA. I wore a white collared shirt, jeans, and black heels. I didn't bring a bag with me, just my plastic folder with all my documents inside.

I had a very pleasant interview experience. I got inside the embassy around 7AM and got out after about an hour and 30mins.

At the entrance, they'll only ask for the first page of your DS-160 confirmation and passport (they're going to give out a ziplock bag to put the latter in).

Everyone working inside the embassy is very accomodating. I got a nice Filipina lady for my prescreening interview that took about 5mins. She asked me the following:

1. My name and DOB
2. Petitioner's name and DOB
3. How did we meet
4. When did he last visit me
5. Have I travelled abroad and where
6. How many times I've been to the States (I have a 10 year tourist visa)
7. Have I been married before and do I have children
8. Has he been married before and does he have children

She asked for the first page of my DS-160 confirmation (this is the first thing they look for at every step), Birth Certificate, CENOMAR, NBI clearance, sealed envelope from medical exam, BPI receipt, affidavit of support, petitioner's tax return form, visa delivery address (appointment confirmation), and my old passport with the tourist visa in it. She wished me luck after.

The next step was fingerprint scanning. After that was the final interview. It was a good day so far because all I heard were approvals while waiting in line, especially from window 64. He sounded like a good guy and I was really hoping I would get him, but I didn't haha. I ended up at window 61. He was friendly, not as loud as the consul at window 64. He asked me to raise my right hand and swear an oath then proceeded with fingerprint scanning. He asked me the following after:

1. My name and DOB
2. Petioner's name and age
3. What petitioner does for a living
4. Petitioner's address
5. How we met
6. How many times we've seen each other
7. Have I travelled abroad and where
8. Do I work

And that was it. He didn't ask to see my proof of relationship. He handed over two pamphlets and told me he was recommending my visa for approval. BEST FEELING EVER! He asked me to take one of the sheets of paper by the window and make sure to call the number on it to register/confirm my visa delivery address.

Honestly, if your relationship is genuine, you have NOTHING to worry about. You'll know how to answer all the questions (in fact, they're very basic questions). Wishing everyone the best of luck!
