Doing k1 visa for UK to USA.
the embassy was quite busy with multiple queues outside as i arrived.
i waited in the line at the desk outside, and I spoke to a worker at the desk, just to make sure i was in the right place.
I got "checked in" for my interview appointment, I was early so after being checked in was told to return to the desk 15 minutes before the time given for my interview.
i returned to the same people at the help desk outside of the embassy ( dont need to wait in the queue again if one is there), i was then screened for security.
After security I was told specifically to head inside the main building and report straight to the front desk,
There was a HUGE queue of people running from inside of the main building all the way outside, it felt so wrong but I made my way past the queue and inside the door passing everyone in the line.
Ignoring the queues i reported directly to someone at the desk who helped out, they took my papers, gave me a ticket number and was told to report to the first floor and wait for my number to be called to a window.
After being called they asked for documents etc and all checked out, i was then told to take a seat again until called once more.
about 20+ minutes passed and I was called, this was the interview now.
it was short and sweet, i wasn't required to give any more documents or even show evidence of relationships ( to which i had 2 full binders of this stuff incase, but never ended up even using it)
After a few simple questions the interviewer simply said it was approved and i'll see it back in a week
Im surprised how quick the actuall process took once i made it there, but assuming all documents etc check out it seems to be quite simple.
Over all it was a fairy simple and pleasent experience, apart from nerves of being somewhere new and so far from home too.
