Review Topic: K1 Visa

I arrived at the consulate earlier than the scheduled appointment. There was already an officer organizing the lines (it opens at 8am local time). Make sure you communicate and inform what your application is, in general I found everyone in there to be resourceful and willing to help.
Once I got to the specific section for my type of visa I was attended by one officer who instructed me on how to organize my documents based on a checklist that was provided by the officer himself. After this step my documents were checked and I was told to wait in line. Two interviews will then follow: the first seems to be a basic check the applicant's identity and if the case has something missing or a detail has been overlooked.
The second interview is the definitive one and it is held with a different officer who gets to approve or deny the visa. As long as your case is bonafide and enough evidence has been provided during the petition phase all applicants should be fine at this point. I found the officers to be very likeable people and their questions were straight forward. I decided to do the last interview in English and the officer asked objective and broad questions about my case, including how I had met my fianceé and how the proposal was done. I answered in detail but nothing in excess, before I realized my visa had been approved!
