Cambodia

My fiancée and I had our interview on March 14th. I flew to Cambodia the weekend before to attend the interview as well. Our appointment was at 8:30; we were allowed to enter at 8:20 and had to place our phones and bags in a locker and head inside through security. Once we were inside and sat down, our number was called the first time to submit the documents. A Khmer person at the window looked through the documents and only took some while returning the others. The second time we were called up to another window, an American woman who spoke Khmer took my fiancée's fingerprints. We were told to sit down again for which felt like a long time. We were called finally to the interview where an American man asked my fiancée to raise her right hand and take an oath. Then, he asked me to confirm that I was the petitioner. He asked us a few questions such as how we met, what I do for my work, and why my fiancée had been denied a tourist visa before (she was denied a B1/B2 visa back in 2016 for attending a conference in the US). He also asked us whether we love each other and afterward gave us a blue passing slip. The interview was short and the interviewer was friendly and polite and asked me more questions than to my fiancée and even joked around with us a bit. He told us that we get married within 90 days and congratulated us. We were very worried before and really prepared all our documents and rehearsed many questions but it was smooth and simple. I really believe it helped a lot because I attended with my fiancée. I would say the couple should be there if possible and should be honest, genuine, and also make sure all the documents are there as requested. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
