Where are you from?
What do you do?
Oh you made ‘blank’ amount last year?
Who paid for the wedding?
All your family from America came to the wedding?
Your mom and dad came to the wedding?
How did you guys meet?
Who introduced you?
Are you guys related?
Oh you came to visit your husband 3 times after the visa rejection in 2017?
Who funded it?
How much was your husbands ring?
Did you buy it here in Cambodia or in America?
Oh you went to Thailand for your honeymoon?
You guys got married right after the rejection?
When’s your wedding date?
Can you speak khmer? (I answered in khmer “what do you want me to say)
I want you to talk to your husband in khmer (I turned to my husband, smiled and just said in khmer that he want us to speak khmer to each other)
He also took a few pictures from us traveling together and asked about it but nothing major. He said we organized our documents very well and I told him we failed last time because we didn’t have all the right supporting documents and that I didn’t want to make the same mistake. He just smiled.
Me and my husband joke and say this was actually my interview and not his. And although we are picking up our visa in 3 weeks, we are not complaining ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ because this actually felt more like a friend trying to get to know our relationship rather than interview and we are so grateful to have this joyful experience as he was joking with me through most of it.
