Review Topic: K1 Visa

I was the petitioner and I visited my fiancee and accompanied her to the interview. The embassy website makes it sound like you can get an Expack 500 anywhere. This is not the case, so don't wait till the last minute to get one. We got ours at a Lawson (after trying many other convenience stores), but it is actually a Japan Post product, so any post office will have it. We arrived on time and waited about 2.5 hours total. The security checkpoint won't allow outside food or drink to be brought in, but there are some drink vending machines inside. Although the signs say to assemble your documents before entering, you can enter first and then assemble your documents in order with a checklist which they provide you inside.
1. Pay your fee at the cashier as soon as the cashier opens which is 8:30 or so.
2. Wait to be called for your documents and then hand them over.
3. Wait to be called for fingerprints (all ten).
4. Wait to be called for the interview.
I think our interview went easier because I was there. Questions were simple and mainly about our personal details, but we were nervous anyway. The interviewer said there was a problem with a computer name-check and we might receive the visa in ten days.
