Hello all,
Just wanted to give back to the community that I used to help me prepare and get through my Visa interview. I read the reviews of the Houston USCIS office before I went in myself with my wife. Overall a great experience and looking back I didn't have to be nervous. We had prepared a lot of documentation and used a binder with plastic sleeves, divided into 10 sections total. Everything from inital application to call logs, bills, leases, etc. We had 2 albums, one for the wedding and one for the friends/family/places we went over the 2 years.

Our interview was on Jan 11th 2019. We had a lawyer as well so he was present during the interview. The following is what happened
1. Metal detector and security check
2. sign in at front office with interview notification letter
3. Waited...and waited....and waited but we got called in approx 2 hours after the scheduled time. We knew that this may be the case, so wasn't concerned.
4. Officer greeted us, took the oath and then sat down.
5. Officer asked to take all relevant documents and place on the table while she prepared her files
6. Officer went through the list of questions on the initial form. I highly suggest reviewing the questions (all the ones with the security/past/etc with the yes no check boxes). I messed up on two questions and they had to be corrected.
7. Officer asked my wife (petitioner) my name, birthday and how many times she's been married
8. Officer approved the petition on a conditional basis. Didn't review or look at ANY documents or pictures but officer did see us carrying a huge binder and supporting documentation
9. Walked out happy and went onto a celebratory lunch!
10. Now we wait for the final letter/card and go from there

Overall a good experience, officer was friendly (but strict enough to carry out the duties in a good manner). There are a lot of officers and each officer is different but key is to be well prepared and ready to answer any questions about your co-mingled life and provide documentation that this is so.

We initially filed August 2017, so our wait time for the interview was roughly 18 months.
