Just a quick summary of my experience, hope someone can find this helpful. Just to give a little perspective for my case I was brought to the United states at the age of 2 and have never been deported, left the country , had trouble with the law or any previous marriages. So my case ,I felt, was pretty straight forward.

We drove from Fresno California to El Paso Texas and crossed over on December 27th and stayed at the Consulado Inn and booked it through expedia until January 5th. If we need additonal days there hotel will honor our expedia price. The price was 35 dollars a night, which was a really good deal compared to the prices for other hotels around. I advise to book in advance through a website because our hotel was 55 dollars a night if booked at the hotel. It's a decent hotel, again my wife and I chose this one because we know we are on business not vacation. The consulate and medical clinics are less than 10 minutes walking but all hotels offer free transportation to these services. The following say on the 28th I had my medical exam at 8:00am at clinica medical internacional and was done by 11am. You must have your consular appt letter, ds260, passport and medical appointment letter as they check you in and have you wait. They check your documents and have you do an eye exam and urine test in the main building. You will then head to a separate building to do your blood work, x Ray's, and then finally shots. I had to pay 430 USD since I received 3 shots. Once you pay they notify you when to come back for your results, which was at 1:30pm. They call names out in no particular order, I was lucky to be one of the first to be called.

The next day on the 29th I had my biometrics appointment. I was out in under 30 minutes. They call people inside based on appointment times so make sure to be near the entrance to hear your appointment being called. I took my passport, ds260, consular appointment letter, and the appointment confirmation letter for biometrics.

I had my interview on January 3rd today! And I was approved! I had my appointment at 745 and was out at about 1030am. You enter the consulate and go through security. Make sure to not have any electronic devices because so many people were being told to go out and leave them somewhere before they could proceed. After security they told me to follow the blue arrows for IV cases. They had us sit in chairs and asked us to have all the following documents ready : consular letter, ds260, medical exam results, passport, birth certificate (original), 2 passport photos and the police certificate. I obtained this report even though I was 100 percent sure I would not need it since I have never lived in mexico beyond 2 years old and had evidence proving my continuous residence in the united states. I went to the Fiscalia in Ciudad Juarez and paid 5 dollars to get it, it took me all but 20 minutes. I got it translated for 40 dollars just in case. Back to the interview process, they escorted groups in and had us wait for someone to check all our documents at the first window. I understood that at this window anything that was missing during NVC or pertinent to your case. I was only asked for my original marriage license, original birth certificate and the 2 passport photos. They gave me a ticket for the green chairs, but some people were given tickets for the black chairs. My guess is that people with black chairs had more complicated cases or missing documents but no way of knowing for sure. After sitting in the green chairs for about 30 minutes they had me line up for the interview. There were about 6 windows interviewing on my side I was hearing lots of approvals. When it was my turn they only asked me for my DACA information since it was brought up during my conversation with the officer. The only questions he asked were:

When did you come?
How did you cross?
Have you had any reentries ?
How did you meet your wife?
Where is she now?
Does she and you both work?
What do you guys do for a living?

He then proceeded to type for about a minute or two and then smiled and told me I was approved and that it should take about a week for my visa to be ready for pick up and gave me a green slip.

I have heard people saying it's been an average of 2-3 days to receive Visa so I am hoping by Monday we can leave.

All in all, the consular officers seemed very genuine and polite. I didnt feel like they were being condescending or giving anyone a hard time.

If anyone has any questions you can get a hold of me directly at rh24la@gmail.com I would be more than happy to help with what I can.
