Overall great experience! I joined my fiance at his interview on 10/29. We arrived around 6am for our 8am appointment. The appointment time doesn't really matter, and I would advise getting there early as the lines were already very long at 6am. There are multiple lines, each separated by the type of visa. There are many security guards to help direct you to the correct line. Make sure to review what is allowed in the consular before arriving, because I did notice many people who had to step out of line who had cellphone with them (no electronics allowed!)
We waited outside for about 45 min, and then they started letting people in. Those with 7am appointment were allowed in first. Once inside we went through security. Afterwards, we were seated outside in rows and slowly each row began entering a second building. Once inside this building (where the interviews happen) we stood in line and were given a number which would be used later for the interview. The first line is for documents. We were asked for my fiance's birth certificate, passport, police certificate and the closed medical envelope. Nothing else! Seems like they don't ask for the the affidavit. This took about 10 minutes. The consular only asked for my fiance to verify his address and phone number, and then asked me for the same. Once we finished, she hanged onto his passport and told us where to sit and wait for our interview.
This is the hardest and longest part of the day! We waited about 2.5 hours for our number to get called. Once we arrived at the window we were greeted by a young American, who asked us each for our full names and then asked as to raise our hands and swear that we will tell the truth, then he checked my fiance's fingerprints. After this the interview started. He told me (the US citizen) he will speak to me in English (unless i preferred Spanish) and to my fiance in Spanish. I said both are great for me and whatever works best for him, as I can speak and understand both. The interview was in both. He asked us to tell him about how we met and our relationship. He mostly wanted to hear our story. So we both took turns explaining. We met after I came here on a mission trip. He then asked me what I do for a living and how many times I have visited. I told him I have visited 7 times, and then repeated the question because he thought I misunderstood and then he said "wow that's a lot of flying" My fiance applied for a visitor visa after our engagement so he asked my fiance where he wanted to go, and my fiance explained. The consular officer was very understanding, and said "bummer" about his visitor visa being denied. He then asked as for some evidence. We brought A LOT. Over 100 photos, all my plane tickets, my passport with all the stamps, letters, letters from our parents expressing their excitement and support for us. We made a book with all our evidence from our faceboook, whatsass and skype conversations etc. I handed over the photos first, he started looking through them and said "one second" and turned off them mic and went away from the window. He came back and said "never mind were all good, you guys are adorable" YOUR VISA IS APPROVED, FELICIDADES" He then handed us a white paper explaining how to track the visa and when to know it was ready (within 2 weeks). Felt more like a conversation than an interview. Great experience. God is great. Just be honest.

Update: Visa was in administrative processing from 10/30-11/7, issued 11/8 and was ready for pick up at 5pm that same day. 10 days.
