We were the first one to get by the embassy. The embassy is tucked in by the left side of the building. You barely can see it as there’s no flags nor any signs except for the logo by the door. We got there by 6:45. Line started like aroind 0700. They opened at 0730. Me and my fiance was the first to get in. A lady to your right will check yoir appointment letter and passport. She gave us a laminated paper with number #1 on it and how to arrange your papers. I was with my fiance and she looked at my passport. Said you can go upstairs with her but not on the interview. We then proceeded to the guard and went through the xray machine like the ones in the airport. Make sure you dont have a backpack or large luggage for they wont allow you to get in. We left our phones to one of the guards who then gave us a stub to claim it afterwards. Then they made us to downstairs for the elevator. No guard was around but they told us to wait. While waiting we were able to arrange our papers:

-receipt of payment of visa ( print the instructions on your ais website)
-passport
-2x passport pics
-original and copy of long form birth certificate
-signed letters of intent to marry
-original police clearance
-affidavit of support I-134
-supporting documents (w2, tax scripts *they only took my latest 2017 w2 and script*

We then all gathered to the elevator. Tip* go to the back of the elevator as the door opens on th other side* but if not, doesn’t matter they go thru your numbers

We sat and waited for our number to get called. Like any other reviews, the set up is like the bank tellers. My fiance got called to window 3. Took about 10 mins and then she was sent back to sit. I didn’t go with her as it was not instructed so. She said they looked at her papers and only took whatever they wanted and also did fingerprint. The lady was nice she said.
After 10-15 mins, she was called to window 10. An older sweet guy was the interviewer. They were in the middle of questions when he summoned her to come get me. LOL. Our interview was conducted like we were just hanging out together telling stories. Lol. He practically interviewed me instead of my fiance. LOL. anyhow he was very nice guy. He then proceeded in writing “issue” on my fiance’s folder and then gave us 2 papers. 1st is the treasured PINK slip and the second was the instructions on how to track your visa/passport. Then he said, congratulations you guys are done.

We went in at 0730 and was already done by 0840. So far, the best part of the K1 process. Please take note, most of their guards are quite strict and more like scary. Lol. But that’s their job.

Tip* just be early. Doesn’t matter if it’s windy and very cold outside. It will be worth it.
