We found the interview process to be quick and painless (other than the 9+ hour drive each way to get to Montreal and back home). We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott which was right across the street from the Consulate. Our appointment was for 8:30 am Friday morning. We arrived at 7:55 am, showed them my wife's passport and appointment letter and were handed the laminated sheet with #6 at the top and a sticker was applied to the back of her passport.

We went through security and up the elevator to the 19th floor. My wife was called to the window to go over her documents within 15 minutes of arriving. I had prepared a 3-ring binder with clear sleeves holding each of the documents we might need and labeled each sleeve with what was inside. It took about 10 minutes for her to go over the documents and have her fingerprints taken. It was a bit longer wait to be called back to the room for the actual interview. That happened about 9:10 am. They returned all the documents except her passport at the interview. She was done and we were back at our hotel by 9:30 am. Our total time inside was under an hour and a half.

It is now Monday afternoon and her visa status has been changed to "Issued" on the CEAC website.
