Experience was great! It's very humbling experience for us.

Our schedule was at 8:40 but arrived at the Embassy gate at 6am. Went in the standing line and was able to get in at 7:40am. Me and my son was assigned different letters for interview line but was instructed to go on mine anyway because my son is a minor. Got to Pre-interview with a very nice Pinay so we spoke Tagalog and English, she asked my personal information, where and when we met (on Tinder), if we met IRL and how often. She also asked when did we got married. She also asked my son if they are also talking. All of these were asked while she's asking for our civil documents. She also asked for a photo, I brought a lot of photos but decided to show her the one with my husband's family in Cabo, Mexico. She told me to show that to the Consul if she ask for it. And then because our case was expedited at NVC stage, she asked for my husband's recent W2 and individual tax return, which I have prepared. I asked if she also need my husband's real estate documents as we thought his W2 isn't enough for 4 total households, she said it depends with the consul's assessment. She checked that we haven't paid the IV fee yet so we were given a yellow invoice and pay at the cashier upstairs and proceed to finger scanning. This first step only took about 10 minutes.

The person at the finger scanning was an American but also talks in Tagalog. He's very nice too. After getting our scans, we were told to go to Window 60. We were ushered to go to Window 68 anyway for final interview with the consul. She's very nice American lady. She told us to raise our right hands and swear that everything we say is true. Then she verified my personal information and asked when and where we first meet. She also saw in my DS-260 that I was denied with the Transit visa application and asked where I supposed to go with that. I told her my husband's family reunion is held in Cabo, Mexico every two years so I was invited to go so I just took a different route thru Tokyo. She asked me if I have a job, I told her I am a government employee in our province. She then asked my son if he likes my husband and if they also talk, my son told her they play online games on weekends with my stepson. Then I verified if my husband's income in the file is enough and told her that I have his real estate documents, she said she will ask for it if she needs it, which she didn't. Then she said she will recommend our visa for approval and wait 7 to 10 days for our passports to be delivered and she said "Congratulations!" We were so happy, we thanked her and she smiled. The final interview went only for less than 5 minutes. She didn't even ask for a photo. 😊😎
