When my fiancé and I arrived at the consulate we were prompted for our passports. Thankfully my fiancé had a copy of his readily available. There are two lines, one is for appointments (us) and the other is for regular things, make sure you do not wait in line and go straight inside. Once inside we had to fill out some paperwork and present our support documents in a specific order that was listed on a sheet of paper. We did not need a lot of the documents we brought, basically outside of my required documents (medical, criminal history, etc) we just needed my finance's tax return and his letter of employment. Once everything was filled out we presented the documents to an officer and they checked to make sure everything was there. After this, we were led to seats. We waited for... a while, shuffling our seats every time a new person got brought up to a window. Eventually my name was called and we both went to the window. They asked me a few questions about my paperwork but nothing weird and then after it was done we were told to wait some more. After a while my name was called and we were directed to another window (our actual interview) and he asked if my fiancé was my fiancé (he said yes). He only asked me three questions, how did I meet my fiancé, when did we meet in person and how did he proposal to me.
Every one was very nice and besides waiting several hours, everything was very easy. Make sure you bring some cash to leave your phone with someone ( you cannot bring it inside).
We choose to pick the passport + Visa at home, so the time now, is more than 2 weeks
