This was a pretty straight forward process. My appointment was at 7:30.
I arrived at 7:10 since it will be based on first come first serve basis. They let us in at around 7:30. If you ever have to have your interview in the winter, dress warm! I had layers and so much on to stay warm since they only let you in one at a time.
You first show your passport, then they give you a number, then you have to go through security like at the airport.

After that you walk downstairs and wait until a good number of you can go up to the 19th floor.
You wait for your number to be called. By that point it was around 7:45am. I was #1 so it happened pretty fast.
If you have all your papers in the right order they tell you to, then it's so easy.

They asked for
1) Passport
2) 2 passport photos
3) original long form birth certificate
4) long form and short form marriage certificate
5) original police certificate/police background check (BTW, if you've in another country for more than a year, they ask for a background check from that respective country! Which I didn't have, but they were ok with that for some reason)
5) my spouse's tax return

Then you sit down, and I think I waited 10 minutes until I was called to the interview.
The lady I had was super nice. She kept saying "aww" to our story. She asked what my husband did and that was really it. I was a bit taken aback because she did ask where else I've lived and I told her in 2009-2010/2011-2012 I lived in South Korea and wondered about my police background check, but it seems like I didn't need it.

Then she hands you a blue sheet of paper that says "Welcome to the United States of America" And that's it! They have a new digital pilot program where everything is now connected to the visa in the passport so when you enter you don't need to carry so many papers.
