We had a wonderful consulate interview, after waiting ten months (!) for our i-130 to be approved! It took about a month and half to receive an interview appointment after our case left the NVC.
The appointment was scheduled for 8:45 and my husband was out of there within 3/4 of an hour. He was received by three different people. It was very helpful that we had originals and photocopies of all of our documents, although they only asked for the documents checked on the interview appointment letter. They asked about how/where we met, our wedding, what we both do for a living, and how we've prepared for our move to the States.
At the end, they told us he was approved and we should be receiving the passport and visa within 10 days!
Much better than expected after the year of waiting for various offices to approve various forms.
There were others there that were sent away and not (yet) approved because they were missing various forms, so be very organized. Bring more rather than less- all of the documents listed on the Dept. of State website are important to have.
