Review Topic: K1 Visa

Fiancee arrived just after 8 AM for an 8:30 appointment. Many people out front but after being directed to the blue line, there were only a few for K1 interview. DS160 was checked and figure prints taken then sat in waiting room. First officer was Chinese and quite helpful and pleasant. Checked for fee receipt and took NBI. Checked out pictures but did not look at her handmade book of evidence. After another wait, second officer was Caucasian, probably American. She was efficient but curt. Also checked original pictures but not book of evidence. Asked why she did not have police report from Dubai, where my fiancee had worked 10 years ago. We had sent an inquiry to the HK embassy previously about the need for this report and they had replied with the travel.state.gov statement that it was not necessary unless she was physically present in UAE, so this is what she said, and the subject was dropped. Also asked her birthday, how we met, and how long ago. She took the the I-134 and supporting financial statements then said she was free to go. Process took about one and half hours.
