Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My appointment was at 10 AM and I got there at 9 AM. The lines to go through security and to turn in the original documents were both very long. They asked for my police certificate, marriage certificate, and birth certificate and copy. We waited almost 2 hours to be called to the second window for the interview. The questions were:
- What is your name? (to me), and you are...? (to him).
- How did you guys meet?
- How long you’ve been together?
- How often have you visited? (To him)
- Did you live in the US or did you just travel to marry (to me, and I said I studied in the US).
- What school? I answered.
- Then she started typing for a while, and went through my passport stamps to make sure I fulfilled my 2 years in my home country (I was a J1 student).
- She said your visa is approved, your passport will be available within 10 days.
- I said thank you and asked 😋 if I would get the IR1 residency since I was 2 years married although the process started as CR1.
- She said oh let me check.. it’s an IR1. And smiled.

Then we were done! 😄
