Review Topic: K1 Visa

My interview schedule was at 7:10AM but didn't get inside for the interview until around 8:00. First interview with Filipino consul went well, he was nice and raised a concern about our case (my petitioner fiance has never lived in the US so no domicile, which he said would be an issue) but he tried his best to include notes in our case file on the computer, noting that my fiance and I will leave for NYC in Sept 30th, and my fiance has school starting on Oct 2.

The interview with the American consul went perfectly fine. My fiance was with me but he just stood behind me while I was interviewed. Consul asked the typical questions about how we met, how long we've been together, he asked about my travels and my US tourist visa (he took it so he can cancel it if I get approved for K1), asked me about my work. The entire interview with the American consul took about 10 minutes, but it was mostly because he was looking at our case file on his computer. He asked me a total of maybe 5 questions. He never brought up affidavit of support but instead said, "So I guess you have no problem with working abroad? (I'm a blogger so I can work legally anywhere)" I said, "No " and then he said, "You won't be on welfare in the US?" and I said "Haha, no of course not." it was very light hearted... and then he said we were approved.

Entire interview process lasted from 7:10 - 9:00 AM. Mostly spent waiting to get inside the interview areas.
