Short experience on my K-1 Visa Interview at Montreal.

Traveling to the embassy Appointment time - 0900 ~ Appointment date - 06/09/2017:
I took the taxi which costed 40$ going there from the (YUL) Airport. Currently there is construction before entering downtown which was not that bad. I could of took (24 hour) 747 Bus but was in a rush. Take it if you have plenty of hours before the time and want to save money.

Line up :
Arrived at the Embassy at 0730 , Walked all the way to the back of line and 20-25 people were ahead of me. 0745 Security starts letting people in. All phones must be off and no large bags were allowed as what the Security said before entering. Small side walk . Gotta be close against the wall for pedestrians can walk by. Passport , Appointment Letter , and Confirmation Sheet DS-160 is what I had given to the lady once entered the building , it was a tight space as people exit and enter the building that works there.. She handed me my passport back with a sticker on it and the laminated sheet with the order of your documents should be and has a number on it which will be the number they will call you by. They also let 3-4 people in the building at a time. So that is why it took almost 30 minutes waiting outside .

Going through Security:
They take all your technology , devices , headphones , chargers . Putting everything in the grey bin like its going through an Airport security.
They give you a tiny paper with a number on it to retrieve your electronics later on. Don't lose it. Lot's of security. that instruct on what you do next.

Going to the 19th floor :
The Security directs you to the door and you take the stairs down to the basement , you will see a big elevator . It is a double sided elevator. Press the 19 button you won't miss it. Once you reach your spot and turn to your left you will be facing with tons of people as they are preparing their documents as well . Sat down on the back by the computers , Vending machine across the room , Ladies washroom on left hallway and male washrooms on right hallway. One side was for immigrant waiting side and the other side of the room of chairs was US Citizen waiting side. Did not matter where you sit. As long as you listen for your number. Also Security walks around the room. When going for the washroom. It may be hard to hear your number so make sure you go when you know it will take awhile.or before hand.

Waiting period/preparation and first window (Showing the documents on the laminated Paper):
The time I entered the building to the time it took to sit in the waiting room was about 30 minutes. 0840 I put my documents in order It which did not matter if you are organized in your own binder or folder. While waiting and preparing to what questions they will ask. I sat by the computers as all the chairs were taken. Big windows to just look outside the view . 0940 My number was called and the window they tell you to go. This is way overdue my appointment time. I should have listened to one of the visa journey reviewers. As it really was (first come first serve) with the number they give you. Once approaching the window the lady asked for my fiancee Phone number and address , then scanned my finger prints.
Now she asked the documents in order. (One by one) not in full package. Have originals and copies for everything. The table in front of the glass window is small. You might drop stuff. Like I did 3-4 times. Once asked for the required documents , they give you a domestic violence paper with a number on it which will be the number they you call by again for the interview. Sat back down.

Waiting period/preparation and second window (interview):
0955 is when I sat down. I felt nervous due to the fact that I saw 1-2 people still holding there passports after there interview and all I see is a cold face as they walk out the room when minutes ago they were smiling. But most of the time I saw a lot of smiles and said good luck to the people are still waiting , each number being called for the interview the time frame is random. As it can take you 10 minutes or 30 minutes or more. Depending how much proof you have and how well you can cooperate with them . I knew at the moment when waiting for my number to be called for the interview it will be a long wait. Which was.long.1000 was the time when I sat back down. It took almost 2 hours to be called up. 1140 is when they announced my number I have brought everything and walked down the hall to window 7 room . Saw the lady behind the glass window. She was very polite as we both smiled and greeted , First 2-3 minutes was a regular conversation and have my fingers scanned as she said its that say you say everything truthfully . She asked me 12 questions as I counted each one:

(How did you to two meet? , When did you meet her in person?, Did she have a previous marriage? , Have you met her family? , When was the last time you seen her? , How many times you visited the US? , What does she do for a living? , What do you do for a living? , Have you committed any crimes? and how about her? , What are doing once you are there? and the last question was will you be using a courier delivery ?).

Questions are random. As they ask questions based on your I-129 and other questions they ask for extra info.

She asked questions Back to back as she types on her computer while she was looking at documents. Short brief answers I have replied with but with confidence and personality. Usually after each answer I given they usually do a facial expression of like (good you ain't lying) while they nod. Barely Eye contact due to her typing on the computer . But they are listening carefully. Once they asked about the delivery of courier or pick up of the Visa. They hand me a pink and white piece of paper of instructions as they welcome you. I was very happy with a big smile. She then said you should celebrate. Which I replied I will once I am with her in person. I continued to say good bye and have a good day. Walked out the hall with a big smile. As everyone stares at you. Went down the elevator to hand in my tiny paper with a number to pick up my phone. Was shocked on how fast the interview part was which took less then 10 minutes and also how much stuff like proof of domicile , proof of relationship documents I did not have to show. 1155 is when I left the building.

5/5 with the officers and security and the people I met.
2/5 with the organization of the appointment times and space that is provided. Need more chairs/tables to organize.
1/5 During the courier question. They said it will take 2 weeks to receive the packet and the Sealed Medical Envelope the Vancouver Panel Physician made a mistake on the addresses which may cause a delay as the officer said they would have to call them and ask them to mail another one.
5/5 Dress Code was normal - I went in as semi formal , dress shirt , jeans , dress shoes. Formal / Semi Formal / Jeans and a nice shirt. (could of went in jogging clothing) but dress like its a job interview and for comfort.
4/5 Interview Experience was quick.

5/5 Overall Experience. It was well worth it and hopefully in 2 week from now I am with my fiancee. =) .
