7:30 apt this morning Sept 6 2017, arrived 7:20 to a minor lineup already formed. Did not separate people per time apt, started to move us in a few at a time, passport and appointment print out, got my lucky number 11, which made me very very happy! Went up a few steps into doors for security screening, downstairs to elevators and up to the selected floor.. into waiting room with some insanely antsy people 😂
My number was called around 8:45, took about 15 minutes at the window, asked for documents in order of laminated sheet (do take time to put them in that order). Asked for payment receipt, passport, copy of passport, 2 passport photos, original and copy of birth certificate, medical (opened it, gave me my copy inside as well gave me a disc that was in there too of my X-ray results), petitioners letter of intent, i134 original with tax return and w2/ or irs transcript whichever you brought... didn't ask for any of his proof of domicile, but we did have it. That was it and that was the order. She then took my finger prints of both hands, and told me to have a seat again until I was called to next window. She did call me back to confirm our addresses but that was all. While she was asking for each of the documents, she was noting dates on a main sheet in my file and check marking off the items. Important to date everything and bring all items and photocopies.
Next window, I was called half an hour later at 9:30, went up and she had me put my right hand on the finger print scanner again, and had me swear an oath to all documents submitted and everything I said in interview is truth.
I'll try to recall her questions to the best of my memory..
-where were you born
-how old were you when you moved
-did you live in any other countries
-what does your fiancé do for work
-how did you meet
-tell me what happened next for you two
-did you have an official engagement
-tell me about your wedding plans
She then wrote "ok" with a circle around it and asked me if I signed up for courtier service, gave me an instruction sheet about tracking the documents return, as well as an info sheet "welcome to the United States"
Everyone there, including the security officers, were all very friendly and helpful, lots of smiles! Very simple process just anxious and a bit nerving with each number called closer to mine 😂 There are toilets upstairs for those with nervous bladders like mine! 😅
Good luck to all those who follow!
