My visa got approved today and they took my passport for stamping. 04th August 2017 9:30 AM slot @ Montreal Canada.
Here is my experience:
Montreal is relatively new for me as I am live in Toronto. I drove 7 hours day before to reach there.
First I went to Consulate at around 8.50 AM and my Visa Interview time was 9.30 AM as the place where I parked it was 20 mins walk from there. After walking 10 minutes I realized on my way that there are other near by parking lots and street parking as well.
They asked me for my passport and gave me a laminated sheet with a number on it. After that, I went to security check where they took my cell phone and gave me a token.
Then the guard told me to go downstairs and took the elevator to 19th Floor and arrange all documents according to the order specified on the laminated sheet.
After arranging all my documents in the specified order and waiting for few minutes my number was called. Over there he took all my original documents (PR card, marriage certificate, birth certificate, passport, medical records) and asked me few questions like :
Who is the petitioner
What is her full name
What she does in US
Who is this on AOS and what they do
What is your marriage date (here he tried to confuse me by saying the wrong date)
When did you become PR in Canada
What is your address in Canada
What is petitioner's address in US
He took my finger prints.
And after taking all the documents and arranging them he told me to read a pamphlet for domestic violence and wait for the Interview turn.
After that it took around 40 minutes to get my turn.
The interviewer was very nice and welcoming.
She asked greeted me and asked to take an oath and took my finger prints as well.
After that she started asking questions one by one:
She asked who is the petitioner
What she is doing currently in USA
How did you meet first time
When did she came to meet you after you came to Canada
What was your marriage date
How many guest attended your function
Was it more than 1-day ceremony and if yes then how many days
What you do in Canada
Where do you work
What is your position in that company
Did you get convicted for any crime in past
Did you ever get refused for US visa
What was the maximum time you stayed in US
She said do you have any plans in next 2 weeks to visit US if no then I would cancel your B1/B2 visa. I said yes please go ahead.
After that, she said the magic words everything looks good and your Visa is approved.
She handed over my original documents and kept original medical records and police certificate. Also they gave my medical CD back as they want just reports.
