Good Day!

My appointment was on July 7, 2017 8:30am. I was there at 8:10 and the officer outside let me in. I gave my interview letter and passport to the lady standing by the entrance. She handed me back my passport and letter and she gave me the laminated sheet. Another officer is standing by the door where you go to get your stuff screened. I only brought the papers needed and a few cash with me. It was an easy scan. Then, the asked me to go down the stairs, continue through the hall and get to the elevator and go to the 19th floor. When I got to the 19th floor, I immediately tried to organize my papers as stated on the laminated sheet. There were maybe only 10 people in the lobby, only 4 people in the immigrant side. I waited for my number to be called, and when they did, they called me to counter number 2. There were two ladies at the window (I am assuming, the lady is training the other lady). Anyways, the lady asked for my mailing address, sponsor's mailing address, sponsor's contact number. Then, they asked me for my papers one at a time and they go through it. The lady asked for my medical results, and handed me back my xray cd. She opened the medical result and said "OH NO" my hurt just sunk! I was thinking, did I fail the exam? What did I do wrong? So I asked her, is everything okay? And she said, "Medisys forgot to put the expiration date on your medical which is important, but we'll contact them. Don't worry about it." I did not know what to feel, but oh well! She said it's all going to be okay. Afterwards, she asked me for my place my fingers on the fingerprint scanner, then asked me to sit down and wait for the consular officer to call my number again.

I seated, and waited. i could hear the guy before me being interviewed, and how casual it seemed like. It made my anxiety lessen a bit. I was hoping for the Consular Officer on Number 7 window, because I have heard good things about him. I maybe waited for less than 5 minutes, and the consular officer called my number to window 7! YAY! I got in, he asked me a few questions, marked my i-864s "meet requirements", then he told me that he could not print my approval yet, because of the missing expiration date on my medical. He said not to worry, it might only delay the processing of my visa another day or two. Then he said, that's it for you, and he handed me the WELCOME TO US letter. OH MY HEART WAS RELIEVED!

I was in and out of there within 30 minutes.

Here are the questions he asked me
1. Where did you meet
2. How did you reconnect (We were childhood friends)
3. Is this your first marriage
4. Where did you get married
5. When did you get married
6. What does he do
7. Where does he live
8.Does he have any hobbies
9. When did you last see each other

That was it! I felt this was the easiest part of the journey! As long as you come prepared, and be honest with your answers, it will be a breeze.

Got my passport within 1 1/2 weeks of visa approval.

Hope this helps anyone who is going to have their interview in Montreal. Best of luck!
