First we would like to thank everyone for sharing their experiences on visa journey. My wife and I had our appointment at the Phnom Penh embassy this morning and passed. We were married in Phnom Penh in December, 2015 and applied for her visa June 2016. The process was rather painless as others have stated. We started by getting a number at window 7, then presenting all of our docs and proof of relationship at window 5, then fingerprinting at window 2. Within an hour we were called up to the window for the interview. The consular asked the follwing questions:

1. How did you meet
2. What do you do for a living
3 Asked specific questions regarding my 1040 for last year.
4. asked what I plan to do for work in the US. (I am currently living in Cambodia until my wife's visa clears).

Surprisingly she didn't ask my wife any questions besides taking an oath and if she spoke English. She also didn't look at 75% of the docs we provided as that was already approved with the NVC ( I suppose) .

We did not have her original criminal record so we have to come back when it's completed (20 business days/$15) from Cambodian Govt. Our process was delayed 6 weeks at one point for missing docs, but I requested an expedite once all the documents were sent in and it was granted. Anyway, we are super happy and I hope this helps anyone applying. We did not use a lawyer.
