I had my interview on 26/05/2017.

To be honest, it's less of an interview and more just a place where they check your documentation.

Anyway, my interview was at 1pm on a Friday and was basically the last one so by the time I got there the waiting room was pretty empty.

1) I got there 20 minutes early and got told to come back in 5 minutes - I sat in the park, it was a beautiful day.
2) I went back to lady at the outdoor desk who looked at my passport and the confirmation email of the interview that I printed out and directed me to the security booth at the front of the building
3) Security was fine, just don't take a laptop which they tell you on their prohibited items list. You ARE allowed a mobile phone - they have Wifi for this purpose.
4) I then walked around the building to the check in desk. They give you a number to look out for, like a deli counter.
5) Waiting area was almost like an cruddy airport lounge with only 4 people in it. There are clean toilets and a photo booth.
6) I was called after about ten minutes to give a few documents like my passport, police certificate and I-134 forms (N.B. this isn't an exhaustive list). I had a convivial conversation with the desk officer. He took my fingerprints and all of my documents (and gave me a CD with my X-Ray on it...). After about 5 minutes he sent me to sit back down for another 20mins - 30mins where I sat and read/
7) I went to another desk for an interview about our relationship. He asked where we met, how we kept in contact, how much we'd seen each other, what my fiance did for a living and when I was planning on getting married. He didn't care to look at the pictures of us, confirmation of wedding arrangements etc.
8) After that he said I'd been successful and confirmed that I'd be getting an email about the return of my documents.

Overall:
My experience was mundane and predictable - exactly what I wanted.
My advice is to do several things:
1) Prepare your documents as much as you can. Check, double check and triple check before the interview and organise it meticulously
2) Take a book. Plan your meals. Take a journal. Most of your time is spent waiting.
3) Relax! If you've prepared the experience runs smoothly and is actually very boring.
4) Remember they take your passport so don't book any trips immediately after! Amidst all of the admin of the K1 interview, I completely overlooked this and had to cancel a trip.... :S
5) If you want less queuing, go later in the day - seems like the appointments are front loaded to the start of the day and more evenly spaced later.
