This website has helped me a lot, so I wanted to share my Manila US Embassy experience last May 16.
I was a bit late and couldn't believe I forgot to bring my interview confirmation, lol. As it happens, they really just need your DS-160 and passport, so I got through.
There were basically 3 steps: 1. Pre-screening by a Filipino interviewer 2. Fingerprinting 3. Final interview with an American Consul
1. Pre-screening- This went fast for me, and I'm glad it was a Filipino so we were basically just conversing in Tagalog. He collected my payment receipt, Birth Cert, Cenomar, NBI clearance, and Form I-134. He asked me questions about myself in the beginning, and then a little bit about how I met my fiance, the whole time he was typing on his computer. He was really nice and easy to talk to. Then he told me to go to the fingerprinting window.
2. There's only one window for this so u have to fall in line. Just make sure ur fingers are dry, after this was the final interview.
3. You'll have to wait again for your turn, I think I only waited around 15-20 minutes. I was interviewed by a young American guy wearing glasses. He basically asked me around 3 questions, may fiance's name, mine and his job, how we met. He didn't ask for anything from me, I did prepare a folder of pictures and stuff, it wasn't as thick as the others brought though. He seemed to double check our file and told me I'm approved, yey, then gave me a pamphlet on domestic violence and to wait 7-10 days for the visa. The pre-screening guy asked me more questions than him. I still think it's better you're prepared, than miss something and get delayed.
Overall very good experience! God bless everyone!
