We delayed our interview date to March 8 because we were unaware of the police report requirements until we received the notice for interview. Filling for this report from Hong Kong was not an easy process and took us about three weeks.
When we got to the interview we had two issues. The Police report was still not there after a month of processing and her Mothers name had a miss-spelling on her CENOMAR. The miss-spelling was easily taken care of because the friendly staff made sure we completed the documents correctly,Then a 15 minute Taxi to file. That process was easy too because there is a special desk for just such matters so you are not waiting in long lines. A courier picks up the revised documents every Friday and delivers to the Embassy. Even though we were told by both staffs ours would be delivered on March 9th it actually was delivered on the 17th. That was no consequence to us as we were still waiting for the police report from Hong Kong.
As soon as we finished filing for the revised CENOMAR we inquired with the Hong Kong Police via e-mail. They replied right away and after we answered a few questions to make sure we were who we claimed to be they replied with a tracking number. Turns out it was already in Manila but it took until the 14th until Tracking stated "The item was tendered for delivery on 14-Mar-2017 without success" Even though we inquired with the embassy weekly it took until the 28th for them tell us they received the paperwork and they would continue processing. The next day we receive notification of Visa approval(-:
Even after that, the tracking system message remained the same, so we really do not know if the report was in the embassy the whole time or it took two additional weeks for them to redeliver.
We hope our frustrations will help others to not make the same mistakes. Make sure you have the correct spelling on all documents and if your loved one is over sixteen and been out of the county for more than six months get started early retaining the required Police Report. With regards to the interview there are no hard questions if your relationship is true.
