I had my interview on Jan. 4 at 12:30pm for the CR-1 visa. First I got to the tent outside around 11:30 and the woman checking interview letters made a group of us stand off to the side and wait until 12:00 to enter. At 12:00 she checked my letter and passport then sent me to security where they do a routine airport-type security check. Then you walk around to the entrance where reception is, they print out your number and stick it to your interview letter and advise you to sit toward the front of the room. It is essentially like the DMV, the immigrate visa people are meant ionsit up towards the front of the room and the non-immigrant visa sit in the back. After about 5 minutes I got called up to the first window. A very pleasant man asked for my documents. I gave him all the documents written on the checklist and nothing more. For the I-864 I tried to give him an explanation of taxes and intent to domicile and he gave it all back. He double checked all of the documents and then told me to go over to another counter to pay and then come straight back to him. I did then had to go sit down again and wait for my number to be called for the interview. After about 12 minutes I was called to a counter around the corner for the interview counter. A very lovely American woman swore me in, then asked a few questions about how we met, how long we've been together, where we plan on living in the US, and what we plan on doing for work. Then she said "I'm pleased to tell you you've been approved, your documents will be with you in about a week!" All in all, I was there for 45 minutes and it couldn't have gone better. I didn't give any relationship proof, intent to domicile, or anything that wasn't expressly asked for on the document checklist.
