Unfortunately I got 221g for the following items:

1. ROM Record Search under Maiden Name. I have one with me but in my Married name.
2. Financial Evidence from my Joint Sponsor. They want to see her 2016 Tax Return since 2015 is lower than the poverty guidelines. Despite of her current pay stubs submitted.

It was nerve wracking experience given my circumstances. My husband has 2 felonies on his record and we are relying on our joint sponsor to meet the financial requirements. My husband previous income wont cut it though this year is better.

So I arrived at 8:45AM, my appointment is at 9:30AM. The guard let me in and had me pass a scanner and my bags for xray. I didn't bring any electronics so just went through quick and off I go. The next security staff checked my bag again and let me pass through another scanner.

A staff was waiting and directing you as to where the interview section is. I was given a queue number and asked to be seated. I was third in line, and yes I met the Chinese guy who requested all my documents. I am not sure if this is the same guy but He was quite nice today and asked only a few questions:

1. What does your husband do?
2. Were any of you married before?
3. Do you have kids? I have one he asked for her Birth Certificate (Photocopy and Original)
4. Do you know or anyway related to your joint sponsor?
5. How many kids she (joint sponsor) has?
6. Their age if you knew.

After collecting originals and photocopy of my civil documents, he asked me to sit down again and wait to be called by the CO.

CO was a nice Asian/American middle aged lady asked me a quite a lot as expected:

1. Where and How did you meet?
2. When and where you first personally?
3. Is that the only time you met?
4. Have you seen each other after getting married?
5. Do you know about your husbands record? What are they? Are you okay with that?

*She wanted to make sure I am aware of everything. But since my husband never hide it from me from day one. I told her straight I knew and name 2 felonies and told her I have a copy of his records and that if she would want to see. She took it and browse and asked you don't have a problem with this. I said from the first time we met my husband was honest about it and if he had not then it would be. I told her My husband came a long way Ma'am.

6. Your sister-in-law doesn't met the requirement based on her 2015? She didn't work for a couple of months since she moved from a different state. And showed CO current pay stubs which would meet the guidelines. I even showed her my mother-in-law is willing to sponsor but since she had 4 dependents in her Tax return it wont work either why we didn't submit it.

After that she said, ok I will issue you a 221g instead. I believe she had made up her mind to deny me under 212a Public Charge even before the interview but God is good. Instead she gave me a 221g slip and asked me to drop the documents as well as my passport with it. She returned my passport and told me that I may want to travel while waiting for the papers.

I thank her for her patience and wished her a great day ahead.

I hope this review would be helpful for all of you. I'm praying for approvals for those who are waiting in line. God bless!
