Before I write this I want people to know that there is no need to worry or be nervous at the interview. It isn't as scary or bad as you think it is!
So I got to London by 10am and when passing the embassy to go to wait in Starbucks there was a huge queue outside at the white tent so I was really nervous I would have to wait or something. But I waited till 11:10am before going to the embassy. Thankfully the huge queue had gone and I waited behind two people and then handed the lady my passport, DS-160 and appointment letter. She wrote something on the DS-160 and checked my in on her tablet and then give me a clear bag for my phone and sent me to the small security box. I was greeted by a very polite man who asked me to place my file and stuff in the scan box thing and I went through security with no problem and then walked up the left side of the building and went to the front desk and handed her the things I gave the woman at the tent and they printed a sticker and stuck it on the papers and sent me up the stairs to the big room. I was directed to the front of the room which was pretty empty. Just ignore the people at the back waiting. I sat in the seat at 11:25am and waited till 12pm (which was my app time)and my number pinged on the screen to go to window 13. I walked around the corner and there was a huge queue of people and they all turned to look at me. Just ignore them, they are waiting for a different reason and just go to the window you are told to go to. For me there was someone still at my window so I waited a minute and they finished and I went up then. I was greeted by a lovely old Chinese woman. She asked me for my birth certificate, police certificate, my finger prints, one passport photo (I just gave her the set and she scanned it), a new updated affidavit to say Mikala would marry me and then she asked for my support forms which I handed her my fiancées sisters affidavit of support form and the woman was confused and asked who it was because it didn't say Mikala and I had to explain that Mikala's sister was our co sponsor and I handed her Mikala's affidavit of support too and she said that it was fine and then asked for one piece of proof of employment for my co sponsor so I gave her a letter of employment. I was waiting for her to ask for tax forms but she didn't...which I am still confused about as everyone I have ever talked to and every review I read said you need them but I wasn't asked but you should take them incase because everyone is different. After that she gave me my medical xray disk and said that was it and that I could go sit back down and wait to be called for my interview. I said thanks and went to sit down. It took about 10 minutes for that. Then at 12:25 my number pinged again and I was called up to window 14. Again ignore the queue. When I got to the window I was greeted by a pleasant American man. He asked how I was and I asked him and my exchanged greetings. After that it was all business. He asked me to swear and oath and scanned my finger print again and then started and asked me a few questions.
1. when did we meet?
2. how did we meet?
3. how do we communicate?
4. when did we first visit?
5. when did we last see each other?
6. who does Mikala live with? anyone else live with them?
7. what does Mikala do?
8. who is tiffany?(our cosponsor)
9. when will I leave for the us?
And then he said that as we got approved in June for the petition, that it meant the petition had expired. At this point I felt sick with worry that they would say no but then he just said that if I had an affidavit to show Mikala would marry me that was recent then that would be okay. I was really confused and told him I had given it to the woman at the first window but that I had a copy if he wanted that too. He told me it was okay that he probably missed it and looked again and found it two pages down on the papers in front of him which we both laughed about. Then he read it and typed on his computer then looked at me and said 'Well there you go, I have put it through as an approval and I wish you the best of luck and you'll get your passport and visa in the next one to two weeks!'
I was so shocked that I almost cried but I managed to say thank you so much and have a merry Christmas and he said thank you and I left. I was so shocked that I didn't even put all my paper work back in my file till I go outside and did it while I called Mikala and told her the good news! javascript:emoticon(' ')
I was out by 12:30pm so overall it took half hour from the time I was called to the first window till I left.
So we are super happy and once my visa arrives I will be able to book my flight and go. Everyone was so pleasant and I really enjoyed the experience even though I was so nervous! Just relax and it will go fine!
