Arrived (walking from Santos Dumont Airport, quite nice to be so close) at about 7:30 for an 8:20 interview. After paying R$10 to some guys on the street to keep each cell phone (didn't want to be in another city without them) we were ushered right in. They allowed us to take a stroller and it was pretty painless to bring in my son's diaper bag as well. When we got upstairs we were instructed to sit in a specific row and waited until the famous Alex called my wife's name. I brought a ton of documents, but they only wanted the basic ones from the interview letter and my financial support documents (only wanted last years tax form). From there, moved to the first row of seating and waited to be called to the window. Each step only took 10 minutes max, person at the window looked at all the documents, gave us back our originals and told us to wait for the interview. Ten minutes later, we were called for our "interview", guy asked us what date we married and how we met and then said here is a form to take to the Correios and bring back, oh and your visa is approved. Paid about R$70 for the postage, dropped back at the consulate and we were on our way. We were on the ground in Rio for less than 4 hours. Very easy process, no surprises, everyone from the security guards to the interviewer were very nice.
