My interview was for 12:00pm and i arrived about 11:40am. There were only two people ahead of me which was very surprising, as previous visits have seen ques (lines for the American reader) all the way back to the road.
Once you check in outside, you go through the security check and into the main building. You see the person on the desk who allocates you a number, you then go into the main waiting room. Its changed again with "reserved" seating which i had never seen and then general. There couldn't have been more then 30 people in total inside. There were only 4 booths open and i was called up pretty quickly.
I was asked for my Passport, Photos, BC and Police Report, followed by the affidavit of support and the evidence. I was also given my chest xray back. I was asked if i had been in the military or had previous been married. The man was very polite. He ticked of his sheet and told me i had till the 1st March to fly out and good luck. Then i had to sit down again. While i was at the first window he went to collect my folder of a table, every single folder was cream and mine was red, so straight away my mind was racing! And after telling me i had till March 1st to fly!!...Had he let the cat out the bag?!?
After about an hour of waiting and mild heart attacks every time the "ding" went to signal the next number being called, my number came up, i was texting my fiance at the time and told her i had to go....1:13pm.
By 1:17pm i was back outside the embassy calling my fiance to tell her we had been approved!!! It was that quick!
I was asked by a very nice lady to swear under oath, I was then asked; "When i met my Fiance, When was the last time i see her, Where i was living in relation to her while stateside, If we had met each others parents". This must have taken all of a minute, which seemed like an hour, to which she replied "Congratulations, you've been approved"!
I wont say i wasn't nervous, i was petrified, but both people i spoke to were very nice and made it as pleasant as it could be. 7 months of waiting all came down to being in the embassy just over an hour and a 3 minute interview!
It seems that if you have got that far, have all your documents in order, then there is no reason for them to reject you.
