Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

The Interview was very simple and straightforward...I petitioned for my husband... The day of interview, he got to the Islamabad enclave around 6:40 and boarded the shuttle soon after. Then the shuttle took him to the embassy. He got in line. They called him to the window for his fingerprints, then they asked him for the Nikka nama and medical exam documents. He was asked if he prefers the interview be conducted in English or Urdu. He picked Urdu. Then he was called in for his interview. Officer asked "How are you?"
Then, "Who is calling you to America"
" What does your wife do?"
"Where does she live(city)"
"Did you bring any pictures"
Officer looked at pictures. " When was your wedding"
"What do you do for a living"? Then he said your visa is approved and you can pick it up in 10 days at a Karachi office. Make sure to take all original civil documents like Nikka Nama, Marriage Certificate, Birth Certificate, Translations. Also it's important to have a Affadivt of support that shows sufficient income 125% over poverty line for number of dependent including you.
